Why The Need To Train

The steel industry is in a depleted state of skills capacity. Formal training facilitation is a must for the employer to ensure continuity of skills in the Workplace. The secondary need for training is portability of skills. This would ensure growth and a fair capacity spread across the country.

Steel making is currently undergoing large changes to equipment, technology and production best practice. Training our staff to stay abreast of these changes will maintain our business presence. The training output is cyclical so new entrants will enter the learning experience on an annual basis.

Who Will We Train?

It is our focus to offer training and employment entry to the unemployed youth. The mandate of raw material value-addition is based on creating opportunities at a localised level. The training need which would lead to employment would mean supporting immediate proximity communities.

We will consider recruitment for training against our legislative parameters so that benefit should be passed where it should be. It is our policy to offer as many opportunities to female candidates as possible.

  • Metallurgists


They are government training facilitation body. They are dedicated to the steel and engineering sector training needs. Learning modules have already been prepared by them to meet the national qualifications framework requirements.

Who Have We Partnered With?

We have partnered with the department of labour, municipality and training bodies for the feed of suitable candidates so that all stakeholders have an opportunity to support our Training intervention.

This would ensure that there is an equal opportunity to all willing individuals to access our training through multiple sources.

How Will We Facilitate Training?

Candidates will meet the minimum academic requirements set out by the seta. Once recruited, trainees are registered with the seta and training will begin on site via our learning center.

Theory will be conducted at the learning center while isolated live equipment will be offered for practical training. Trainers, moderators and assessors will ensure the standard of training is correct while documentary trails are maintained each step of the way.
